Digital Citizenship Perspectives-Teachers_Technical Awareness

Overview/description

.......what is this core competency referring to? Describe how it links in with the Digiteen Area of Awareness

This connects to the Teachers Perspectives page because it shows how and why teachers should teach their students about being safe online and having a good digital footprint.

Examples

.....Provide real examples from your school, country or from your research of how this norm and the Digiteen element impact on each other. These can be in the form of an image with text, a podcast, a short video, interviews etc.

Many children at age 2 already have a digital footprint. From a current survey 81% of children do have a digital footprint. Some children have an e-mail and even pictures of themselves on the web. Teachers need to raise awareness to their students and to their parents. To do this the teacher could do a project like Digiteen or just spend some time teaching their students about being safe and having a good digital footprint. If all this happened your students would know how to be good online, have a good digital footprint, and would know how to be safe online. These would be good things to know because each day more and more people are using the web.[1]
